I’ve had a lot going on with writing lately and this quarter’s newsletter is dedicated to all of that. If you’d like to read more, but aren’t signed up for the newsletter, all you need to do is go to my website – www.CAPWrites.com – and scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your first name, last name, and email address, where it says “Subscribe to My Newsletter,” and verify your email address. We don’t ever sell or misuse/abuse your trusted information. Currently, newsletters come out every three months.
For this little blog, I’d like to highlight two awards and a forthcoming story publication.
Many thanks to the wonderful folks at the Tennessee Mountain Writers, Inc., for selecting “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” as first place in Humor. I received $100 and a beautiful plaque for this honor a few weeks ago.
Later the same week, a new piece, “Not Tonight,” was selected as third place winner in the Jesse Stuart Prize for Young Adult Fiction, through the fine folks at the Mountain Heritage Lit Festival, where it received $50 and a certificate.
Last week while I was at the beach, I received notification the editor at the Mildred Haun Review that my piece “There’s No Place,” will be published in their forthcoming issue of the MHR.
Many thanks to the judges and editors involved in these selection processes. I know that you receive a lot of really great pieces. I am humbled and thrilled to be selected as a winner and/or for publication from the numerous entries that you receive.
Also, don’t forget that we currently have a special sale on the website to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the publication of Dog Days and Dragonflies! All books are 15% for the next month! Order soon, while the sale is on!
